I recently received a prescription for blood work from my doctor. Can I come to PCL to have my blood drawn? Yes. PCL is a fully accredited laboratory facility with licensure to perform blood tests ordered by medical practitioners. (back to top) My physician has indicated a different laboratory for me to go to for blood tests. Can I choose to come to PCL instead? Yes. It is patient privilege to select the laboratory to perform testing regardless of the indicated facility on the request slip. (back to top) Is an appointment required to come to PCL for blood tests? Not during weekdays. Patients can stop in any time Monday thru Friday from 8am – 3pm at our main facility, 3494 Progress Drive, Bensalem PA 19020. - A current insurance identification card (Medicare, private insurance, or HMO/PPO)
- Any form of Photo identification (drivers license, state or military ID, passport etc)
- If you do not have insurance or are electing to pay out of pocket for services, PCL accepts cash or check payment for services (back to top)
What are the requirements for minors coming to PCL for blood tests? - A parent or legal guardian should accompany minors
- If a non-legal guardian is accompanying a minor, he or she must have a notarized statement signed by a parent or legal guardian giving permission for the collection and billing of the tests (back to top)
What Insurances does PCL accept? PCL participates with all major insurances and additionally with Medicare and Medicaid. Some HMO plans only allow specific laboratories to process tests. If you participate in one of these plans, checking with our staff at PCL in advance will prevent you from receiving an unexpected bill for services. As a regional, privately held, full-service clinical laboratory we provide a turn around time comparable to or better than other laboratories. PCL follows test result disclosure laws requiring all results be sent to the ordering physician or other authorized person who has requested the test.
